Wild Fig Birth LLC, started as a whisper in Maggie's heart in 2005. Maggie attended the home birth of a close friend and realized that birth was something to which she was drawn and wanted to further explore.  Her road to midwifery has had twists and turns, starting with becoming a Registered Nurse in 2008,  attending births as a doula from 2009, then completing an midwifery apprenticeship of five years, ending in 2019.

Birth is magical and full of wonder. This mystery and the desire for women and families to connect to birth more holistically, is what makes this a calling for Maggie. Physiological birth as undisturbed as possible is her goal for all her clients.  But probably one of the greatest gifts, is to see moms discover strength and power where they thought they had none, or to see a couple become a family, and to witness that beauty over and over.

Maggie is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), by the North American Registry of Midwives and is Licensed in the state of TN to practice Midwifery.

Maggie is up-to-date with CPR/BLS and NRP (neonatal resuscitation). She stays current with emergency procedures by attending training such as B.E.S.T.(Birth Emergency Skills Training) as well as S.T.A.B.L.E. , BWB training (Breech Without Borders) and Twins/Breech Workshops. Maggie is also currently licensed as a Registered Nurse.
When Maggie is not attending births, she enjoys singing, playing guitar, talking about Jesus, eating amazing food(chips & salsa or Indian food is probably involved) and spending time with friends and family, as well as working out!

Holly Peckskamp, CPM (Awaiting TN Licensure)

Join us in welcoming Holly to our Wild Fig team as a Part-Time CPM. Holly has been working with us in the assistant role since the beginning of the year, but is now ready to see clients as a CPM.

Holly has walked a slightly different path towards the call of midwifery. It was the challenging birth of her son in 2009, that gave her significant pause about how she had prepared for birth.

Holly feels all births are beautiful as is, but her own birth story was not without several layers of fear. From the moment her son was born, she was determined to learn deeply about the connections between fear and birth. Her first step into birth work was becoming a labor doula (2009).

This path allowed her to become part of the joyful aspects of giving birth with education and advocacy. It was life changing and life healing. In addition, Holly developed a childbirth education course to help families learn how to surrender and advocate during the birth journey. This included pre-natal yoga in preparation for the physiological process of birth.

Holly is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives.) and worked locally to complete her apprentice training at the beginning of 2024. Holly is currently awaiting her TN licensure.  She is current with CPR/BLS as well as NRP( Neonatal Resuscitation) . Holly keeps current by attending emergency skills training such as B.E.S.T. (Birth Emergency Skills Training), as well as Breech/Twin Workshops.

Holly resides in Nashville, TN with her husband and son, two cats and dog Tucker. When not attending birth,  you'll find Holly exploring the outdoors, enjoying live music and catching a yoga class around town.
